The Big Freeze!
This winter’s big freeze called for some creative thinking from the team at Tents and Marquees at a recent wedding reception. The bitter weather meant that a larger tented reception area was required adjoining the main marquee. The only problem was the local flora. But Charles Home, Managing Director of Tents and Marquees, decided to turn the problem into an attractive asset. The marquee was erected and the flooring cut out to accommodate the two small trees. As can be seen in the image above, this formed a rather unique and interesting display, and the trees stayed warmer for a few days.

The Big Event
Tents and Marquees are now one of the few marquee companies to be able to offer 15metre wide marquees. If you are considering an event for more than 300 people you definitely need a 15metre wide marquee. Over 600 people can be catered for in this size marquee, by adjusting the length in 5 metre increments. Ideal for the larger wedding, leaver’s ball or larger show tent.

Success at the West Mids Show
The Shropshire and West Midlands Show was an amazing success this year.   Tents and Marquees Ltd, from Shropshire, supplied and erected more marquees and tents than ever before, including building the village for The Kings Troop Display Team. They supplied the 15m wide W.I. marquee - by far the largest they have had at the event and the new Members marquees with a 9m wide bar, 12m wide dining marquee with boarded floor and carpet and a partially open hexagonal decking area.

Farmers Market Stall
Tents and Marquees, based near Shrewsbury, have just been awarded the contract to supply, erect and disassemble 60 Farmers Market stalls in Ironbridge. Charles Home, Tents and Marquees Managing Director, commented “This represents a new extension to our business, we have invested in these stalls and are now in a position to provide Farmers Markets and similar events around the Shropshire area with bespoke market stalls”

Making Full Use
Nearly 1,000 people walked through the entrance to the marquee set up by Shropshire based Tents and Marquees, at the home of Lynette Griffiths in Shawbury. The marquee and all accessories including tables, chairs, flooring, dance floor, liners, lighting, catering tent and entrance portico were used on four separate occasions, for the Wedding on the Saturday then on the Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, including a very successful charity fundraising event.

Sports Day Success
Shrewsbury based Tents and Marquees supplied their impressive brand new 15 metre wide marquee for Prestfelde School’s Sports day on Saturday, 4th July. Nearly 800 people attended the event which was held in the School’s grounds and due to the inclement weather on the day the majority enjoyed the comfortable surroundings of the marquee.
